I have 6 MILLION negative things to say about this “project”.
Such as:
“I felt lucky to have tampons, which are totally modern compared to the rags, straw and small, furry animals that women used in olden times.”
Umm because increased rates of cervical cancer really make you “modern”. Not to mention, other cultures who are not as “modern” and happen to have a different culture about menstruation.
“Then there’s the question of how a guy would transport his tampons around town. I keep mine hidden in my sock and backpack. But if guys got periods, they wouldn’t have to hide them. They’d flaunt them. They’d wear their tampons behind the ear at a jaunty angle. Or keep them in beautiful leather cases normally reserved for fine cigars.”
It’s fucked up how true that is.
“If guys had periods, they’d gain new appreciation for what girls go through every month.”
Having your period does NOT mean you have any idea about what being a “girl” is or what “girls” go through. Having a period does NOT erase centuries of patriarchy.
Not to mention the word “Vagina”, which describes very little of the actual anatomy, is mentioned only 3 times, where as “girl parts” and “private parts” are mentioned 7 times.
Yeah this is hella fucked up.
